Tel Aviv AI Week & Cyber Week 2026: What to Book (and Skip)

AI Week (9-11 Nov) and free Cyber Week (9-12 Nov) land at Tel Aviv University next week. What to register for, what to skip, and how to get to campus.

They share a campus and a week. They do not share a registration form. Miss that, and you'll show up with the wrong badge.

Our pick: one week, three moves

  1. Residents / curious locals: free Cyber Week registration now. Tuesday 10 Nov, Cyber Week Main Plenary + exhibition at Smolarz.
  2. Industry / AI people: AI Week Main Plenary on Monday 9 Nov at Smolarz (paid). One ticket covers all three AI Week days; academic tickets are ₪250.
  3. Wednesday 11 Nov: "When AI Meets Cyber" at Naftali (free with Cyber Week registration). BSidesTLV is the same day at Smolarz — separate, paid ticket.

Two badges, don't mix them up

Cyber Week (9–12 Nov) is free. Register once on cyberweektau.com, then add the sessions you want. Light meals are included at many events. Everything runs in English, with no simultaneous translation (Cyber Week FAQ).

AI Week (9–11 Nov) is paid. Separate registration on ai-week.com. Per the ticket page (checked Fri 6 Nov): industry ₪550 (early bird listed at ₪440), government/IDF/reservists ₪440, academic (students and faculty) ₪250, virtual viewing ₪250. Prices include lunch. Bring a student, employee or IDF card to tag collection if you claimed a discount. TAU's Hebrew page still mentions an early-bird special — confirm the live price before you pay.

Organisers: Blavatnik ICRC, TAD, and the Yuval Ne'eman Workshop, with the National AI Directorate and Israel National Cyber Directorate. Hebrew summaries: TAU AI Week and Cyber Week.

Honest caveat: many side rooms are closed, invitation-only, or fill up early. The plenaries and the open "When AI Meets Cyber" morning are the realistic targets if you're not already in the industry Rolodex.

Monday 9 Nov: AI Week owns Smolarz

Smolarz Auditorium, 08:00–19:30, hosts the AI Week Main Plenary and exhibition (TAU listing). The public bill includes Brig. Gen. (Res.) Erez Askal (National AI Directorate), Prof. Elad Hazan (Princeton / Google AI Princeton), Prof. Moran Cerf (Columbia), and others on ai-week.com.

If you're only buying one paid day of the week, make it this one. Cyber Week side events run elsewhere on campus the same day, so you can mix — but only if you registered for both.

Tuesday 10 Nov: free Cyber Week plenary

This is the day we'd send a Tel Aviv friend who works tech-adjacent but isn't writing a cheque for AI Week. Cyber Week Main Plenary + exhibition takes Smolarz, with speakers including Yossi Karadi (Israel National Cyber Directorate) and Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Prof. Isaac Ben-Israel (cyberweektau.com). AI Week continues at Bar-Shira (Main Plenary II: algorithms, agents, physical AI — paid AI badge).

Wednesday 11 Nov: where AI and cyber actually meet

When AI Meets Cyber, 08:30–13:30, Naftali Building, Efter Auditorium — with the Israel National Cyber Directorate. Open sessions on rogue agents, backdoors, context poisoning and prompt injection wrap around 12:45; the invitation-only roundtable runs 14:00–16:00, so don't show up at 14:00 expecting open seats (event page). Highest-signal free block of the week if you sit between product and security.

Same day, BSidesTLV takes Smolarz. It's on the Cyber Week calendar, but it is not free Cyber Week entry — BSides sells its own tickets (early bird was ₪100 / regular ₪150 — check bsidestlv.com). Good for hands-on security talks; skip if you just wanted the free plenary.

Thursday 12 Nov is Quantum Day and leftover Cyber Week sessions. Skip unless a specific workshop is on your list.

Same week, different universe: Fashion Week

Same week, different vibe: Israel Canada Tel Aviv Fashion Week runs 8–12 Nov at Kremenetski 7. Separate tickets.

Getting there

  • Train: Israel Railways' Tel Aviv University station is on the southeast edge of campus. Walk toward Gate 4 (Smolarz / Dr. George Wise Street) or Gate 7 — Cyber Week's FAQ recommends both (FAQ).
  • Buses: many city lines; Moovit beats the stop signs.
  • Car: paid lots around campus. Parking inside is staff-only (TAU transport).
  • Local tip: bring government ID for the gate, and your student/employee/IDF card if you claimed a discount. On plenary mornings, arrive 30–45 minutes early for the Smolarz line.

Overrated: driving to Smolarz at 08:15 and hoping the gate lets you "just drop in". Register, badge, ID, then walk.
